I know we are still in football season, but being from Pittsburgh and a diehard Penguins fan, some things I can let go, but they're are some things that require attention.  I distinctly remember reading about how Philadelphia Flyer fans and Washington Capital fans would constantly accuse Sidney Crosby of being soft...a cry baby..basically what my avatar says.  Every fan is entitled to their own opinion, which is fine.  Personally, I believe the truth to be jealousy.  No one, including me thought that my Penguins were going to beat the Red Wings in the Stanley Cup finals last year.  But, they did.  They got they're 3rd Stanley Cup, and did it by kicking Flyer and Capital ASS in the process.  So, when one's team is defeated, the natural reaction is to accuse of cheating.. say the other team got lucky..anything BUT give credit where credit is due and understand that the better team won. 

In last years series with the Capitals, Ovechkin was accused of being dirty.  He blatantly tried to take Gonchar out, I believe in game 4 it was, and here's my question.  Alex is so damn talented, why do you have to resort to cheating...to on purpose try to injure another player?  It's nothing to see every Capitals game..to go the the box score, and barring a shutout by the opponent, see "Ovechkin (Goal)" every time.  And to make matters worse, the guy who Ovechkin pissed off this time went after the coward, but all of Alex's little supporters(also known as jockstraps) jumped in to take the fight away from their franchise player.  Alex needs to learn a little from Gretzky.  If I recall, Gretzky lead the league in scoring many years, but also won a few gentlemenly awards as well.  He and Mario Lemieux played the game the way it should be played.  Malkin won the scoring title last year, you don't see him intentionally injuring other players.  Eventually, when no one suspects it, someone is going to line up that little pansy and knock him into next week.  Then all his little Capital jockstraps will cry to the league saying this isn't right...why did this happen?...and all they'll have to do is realize that Alex the _ _ _HOLE brought all of this on himself. 

Hockey is a phsyical sport.  If you want to be a punk ass and try to injure someone, it's going to come back to haunt you.  Last year, the Penguins were smart, because it was in the playoffs.  They went about getting even the right way by sending "The Jockstaps" home early and to visually show them how to win a Stanley Cup.  Alex has a lot of talent, but needs to grow the f@#k up if he wants to be still playing hockey in April.

Since its never to early to talk about football, I thought that i'd rile up some tasty conversation by predicting that the best team and organization in football; THE Pittsburgh Steelers will defeat the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl 44 and thus renaming Pittsburgh "Sevensburgh" and having the Cowboys join the likes of the Buffalo Bills of losing four Super Bowls.  Since the early 70's, the Dallas Cowboys have been known as America's Team...WHAT A CROCK!!!  They rekindled their clain in the 90's with the trio of Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Irvin, but what have they done the last 13 years besides be the butt of most football jokes outside the Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions.  Jerry Jones reminds me more of Steinbrenner of the Yankees more and more each year.  With what the Cowboys have accomplished the last decade, no wonder I love football so much.  The Steelers upper management has been the model of professionalism that other organizations have tried to emmulate them.  The Steelers draft smart, stay away from pricy free agents, and have the foundation other teams strive for.  

Here's why they should be a Super Bowl favorite this year.  1st, they don't lose as many players off this Super bowl winning team as they did 3 years ago.  2nd, they will have a much easier schedule and are a virtual lock for 11-13 wins and/or a division winner. 3rd, i guarentee that Ben Roethlisberger won't be riding his motorcycle without a helmet crashing into cars and pavement this summer like he did when the Steelers won it all last time. 

Finally, I'll admit that this hasn't been an every year thing for the Steelers.  We suffered through our share of bad drafts and poor play.  Three names for you...Bubby Brister, Mark Malone, and the not so masculant Kordell Stewert.  Those teams weren't like the Lions and Raiders of now, but suffered through a phase of mediocrety.  Every teams strives to win the championship.  The Steelers are fortunate enough to win it 6 times.  I just feel with what we have going on right now, barring any major injuries, that the Pittsburgh Steelers defeat the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl 44 by the score of 31-20.  Anyone want to disagree?

 I tried posting my 1st Blog about Fantasy Football, cause I firmly believe that if you want your material to be read and responded to, you need to know your stuff and not be boring to read.  So, not trying to be a Walt Whittman of a blogger, I tried this before and screwed it up immensely.  Here it goes...

 

    I am HUGE into Fantasy football, like most us probobly are.  A couple days ago, i saw a mock fantasy football draft (only 3 rounds) for this upcoming season and I pose this question...Which team would you want to be staring with.  This mock draft had 12 teams.  One thing i forgot was a point stategy system.  We'll say that all TD's are 6 points.  1 pt per reception, 1/2 point per carry, 1 point per 10 yards rushing/recieving, 5pts. bonus for 300 yards passing; 100 yards rushing/recieving.  If i missed anything...oops.  Here's the draft..

Team #1:  A. Peterson, P. Manning, Kevin Smith

Team #2: M. Turner, A. Boldin, Ronnie Brown

Team#3:  M. Jones-Drew, R. moss, S. Smith(CAR)

Team #4:  Deangelo Williams, Addai, B. Marshall

Team #5:  M. Forte, M. Lynch, R. Wayne

Team #6:  Chris Johnson, B. Jacobs, J. Cutler

Team #7:  Westbrook, T. Brady, Derrick Ward (TB)

 Now, team #1 would be next to pick, but which team thrills you the most?  At 1st look, if the NFL doesn't suspend Lynch, I LOVE team #5!  I've been more favorable of solid, steady WR's as of last year, so team #3, followed by team #8 is also very intuiging.  All Teams are a decent start, but if there was one team that would scare me if my draft started that way would be team #7.  An aging Westbrook and a rusty Brady would have me worried.  So talk to me, what team would you like?  Peace
